Veneers: A Subtle Way to Rejuvenate Your Smile

Veneers are porcelain shells that fit over your teeth to mask aesthetic concerns. We will use impressions of your teeth to create veneers that look natural and uniform.

We Invest in Your Results by Using Lifelike Porcelain

The best veneers blend in with the rest of your smile.
Veneers over teeth
Our Adel, GA, dentist proudly uses porcelain for his dental veneers. Porcelain mimics the natural translucency of your teeth and can be shade-matched, so it's virtually indistinguishable from your other teeth. Porcelain is also a durable material, meaning you won't sacrifice an ounce of functionality in the pursuit of beauty.

Am I a Candidate for Porcelain Veneers?

Dental veneers are a cosmetic treatment designed to conceal aesthetic concerns. Because they do not help with health or functional needs, a good candidate will need to check several boxes. Dr. McCartney may be able to refine your smile with veneers if:

You Have Healthy Teeth and Gums

If our dentist notices any signs of tooth damage, tooth decay, or gum disease, he will have to restore your oral health before placing your veneers. He offers dental treatments designed to improve your teeth and gums, like periodontal care, fillings, and cleanings.

You Have Sufficient Enamel

Your natural teeth act as the foundation for your veneers. Because traditional porcelain veneers require the removal of a small amount of enamel for the most accurate fit, Dr. McCartney will ensure that your teeth are strong enough and you have sufficient enamel for the procedure.

You Don't Have Bruxism or TMJ Disorders

When you clench or grind your teeth, you can damage your enamel—and your porcelain veneers. Patients with temporomandibular joint (TMJ) disorders or bruxism will need to get these conditions under control. That way, they can count on beautiful results for years to come.

Not a Candidate? Consider Lumineers

/

If you're not eligible for traditional veneers, you may still be a great fit for beautiful Lumineers. This type of veneer requires minimal or no preparation, so patients with thin enamel can still receive a cosmetic upgrade. Plus, our dentist may be able to place them in a single visit—a quicker turnaround than traditional veneers.

How Does Veneer Placement Work?

Depending on your goals, you can choose dental veneers for one front tooth, several teeth, or all your visible teeth.
Depending on your goals, you can choose dental veneers for one front tooth, several teeth, or all your visible teeth.

Consultation

We'll welcome you to our office, where you'll discuss your ideal smile. Our dentist will assess each tooth, making sure you're a good candidate before starting the process.

Preparation

Our dentist will begin traditional veneer placement by removing less than one millimeter of enamel from the front surface of each treated tooth. You'll feel little to no discomfort, especially because we offer sedation.

Impressions

For the most accurate veneers possible, Dr. McCartney will take impressions of your natural teeth. Then, he'll send them off to a trusted dental lab for fabrication.

Temporary Veneers

Of course, our dentist won't let you leave our office without a lovely smile. He'll attach temporary veneers to protect your teeth as you wait for your permanent veneers.

Creation

The lab will use your custom impressions, as well as porcelain that has been shade-matched to your teeth, to make your new dental veneers. The process typically takes about two weeks.

Attachment

Our dentist will carefully etch your teeth, attach your veneers using dental cement, and cure the area. Your results may last as long as 10 to 15 years, as long as you take good care of your veneers.

Are Veneers Easy to Care For?

Yes, veneers are about as easy to care for as your natural teeth. Dr. McCartney will make sure that you leave our Adel, GA, office with a clear understanding of porcelain veneer maintenance.

Care is simple, involving daily brushing and flossing, as well as regular dental cleanings at our practice. Patients should also exercise reasonable caution, like not opening packages with their teeth.

If you ever have questions or concerns, you're always welcome to contact our dentist.
